Who We're Looking For 

The Payroll and Accounts Payable Manager has a key role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's payroll and accounts payable functions. This position ensures the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and vendor payments, maintains compliance with financial policies and regulations, and provides leadership to the payroll and accounts payable teams. We are a small team in a fast-paced environment, so, being a team player while adapting to the changing needs of business is the key to success. 

Responsibilities 

Payroll Management: 

  • Manage and process payroll, for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 

  • Oversee all payroll-related tasks, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, tax withholdings, and 401(k) deferrals, posting journal entries, researching variances, and reconciliations. 

  • Benefits management and reconciliations. 

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws. 

  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure accurate employee data. 

  • Prepare and submit all payroll-related tax filings and reports. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions and discrepancies. 

  • Manage and troubleshoot payroll and timekeeping systems. 

Accounts Payable Management:  

Oversee the entire accounts payable process, from invoice receipt to payment. 

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all vendor invoices and expense reports. 

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies. 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. 

  • Ensure compliance with company accounts payable policies and internal controls. 

  • Manage the issuance of 1099s and other related tax documents. 

  • Analyze and audit vendor statements. 

General Accounting & Leadership: 

  • Develop and implement process improvements and automation to streamline workflows. 

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. 

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to payroll and accounts payable. 

  • Support all internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. 

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records. 

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 

  • Five years of experience in a combined payroll and accounts payable role, with two years in a leadership position. 

  • Extensive knowledge of payroll and accounts payable regulations and best practices. 

  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software  

  • Thorough knowledge of Advanced Excel skills & Sage Intacct is a MUST 

  • Scoro is a nice to have 

  • Paylocity for payroll or other payroll platform experience 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

We aim to offer competitive and fair compensation based on experience, location, and market benchmarks. The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 USD.
